Formas are essential in Warframe. Getting and crafting normal Formas daily

For classic Formas, consistency is your best ally. The ideal goal is to always have one crafting in your foundry (crafting time is now 23 hours). Two main sources allow you to build a constant stock of blueprints:

  • Void Fissures: By regularly opening around ten relics a day, you are almost guaranteed to walk away with at least one Forma blueprint. Even if your own relics don't contain any, you will very often run into squadmates who have them in theirs [00:17].

  • Railjack Missions: Most Railjack missions include Forma blueprints in their reward rotation tables. It's a great alternative to break the fissure routine while restocking [00:49].

How to farm pre-built Formas?

Rare Caches and search optimization

These hidden caches appear on certain planets (like the Void, Deimos, or the Zariman) and emit a very distinct whistling sound [01:12]. To avoid searching blindly, two tools completely change the game:

  • Golden Instinct (Helminth Ability): This ability is unlocked by leveling the Helminth to max rank (rank 15) by feeding it Warframes or using it. Equip it on a Warframe with good range. In mission, it releases a wisp that heads straight to the nearest rare item [01:38]. Be careful, there is a cooldown before the ability can be reused.

  • The Parallax Landing Craft and Orokin Eye: You can farm the components for this landing craft on the Zariman. Its air support ability,Orokin Eye, instantly reveals all rare objects within a 150-meter radius around you. If all 4 squad members take turns activating it, you can map almost the entire map very quickly [02:51].

Weekly challenges and rendez-vous

  • Octavia's Music Puzzle (Lua): If you encounter this musical puzzle on Lua, take the time to solve it. The final cache sometimes contains a fully built Forma [04:00].

  • Nightwave: Consider this your free battle pass. Too many players neglect their weekly challenges, even though the ranks regularly offer bundles of 3 pre-built Formas [04:30].

  • Daily Sorties: A must-do every day after the reset. In addition to potential Formas, it's one of the rare places to get exclusive mod boosters [05:05].

  • Archon Hunt: This end-game weekly activity (With the Breaking Wheel quest) is an excellent source of Formas. In addition to the guaranteed Archon Shard, its randomized reward table contains a bundle of 3 pre-built Formas. One more reason to complete it every week.

  • The Warframe 1999 Calendar: Don't neglect the 1999 console. Regularly checking the seasonal calendar allows you to claim free rewards on special days (gift icons). It's a very clean passive source to grab fully built Formas effortlessly.

  • Plague Star Event: This temporary event regularly returns to Cetus and allows you to trade its specific bounty standing for built Formas at will from the dedicated NPC [06:06].

The ultimate expert tip: Platinum farming

Although the Plague Star event is very popular for Formas, it is limited by time and mission animations (about 6 Formas maximum per hour, equivalent to 70 Platinum in the Market).

Therefore, the fastest method remains Platinum trading [07:17]. By farming Prime parts or in-demand items to resell on Warframe Market, or by sorting your inventory using tools like AlecaFrame, it is very easy to exceed 100 Platinum per hour. With this currency, you can directly buy 3-packs of Formas for 35 Platinum in the in-game Market, with no restrictions or waiting time.

Umbra Formas

The Umbra polarity accommodates the Umbra versions of stat mods (Vitality, Fiber, Intensity) [08:52].

Umbra mod synergy and build tips

The more Umbra mods you equip on a build, the higher their stats increase thanks to the set bonus.

  • Useful reminder: If you accidentally dissolve or sell an Umbra mod, know that it is possible to buy it back from Cephalon Simaris [09:44].

  • Optimization tip: To save capacity points on your builds without sacrificing bonuses, you can leave certain Umbra mods (like Fiber) at rank 0 and max out only the one you care about most, like Intensity [09:59].

How to get Umbra Formas?

There are only two official methods in-game to acquire them:

  • High tiers of Nightwave: They are usually offered towards the end of each Nightwave rotation [11:38].

  • Teshin's Store (Steel Path): Teshin offers one in his rotation every 8 weeks, costing 150 Steel Essence. Gathering this amount is very fast: a good fissure session of just over an hour on the Steel Path is more than enough to cover the cost [12:01].

  • Special Alerts: Don't neglect temporary alerts. Occasionally, right after a major Devstream or the launch of a major update, DE deploys 24h or 48h alerts to acquire an Umbra Forma blueprint in mission.

  • Event Streams (Twitch Drops): During very special events — like the annual TennoCon or symbolic milestones (anniversary Devstreams for example) —, an Umbra Forma (sometimes fully built) is given away via Twitch Drops. Make sure to double-check that your Warframe and Twitch accounts are linked!

  • Rank 30 is Christmas! Warframe gifts you several as a reward.

Omni Forma

The Omni Forma allows making any slot (Aura or standard Warframe/weapon slot) completely universal (except Umbra). It accepts all base polarities (Madurai, Naramon, Vazarin, Zenurik, Unairu).

Acquisition:

  • The blueprint is obtained as a reward from Arbitrations (replacing the old Aura Forma) or in certain events. Be careful, it's an end-game sink: crafting it requires 4 classic Formas and Nitain Extracts.

  • Its pre-built version is obtained in 1999 Archimedea

  • The Warframe 1999 Calendar: Regularly checking the seasonal calendar allows you to get Omni Forma blueprints (meaning they need to be crafted)

Stance Forma

It is easily purchased from Teshin in the Steel Path store for 10 Steel Essence (blueprint) and makes a melee weapon's stance slot universal.
